About The Author

All my life I have loved horses. I’m a US Marine who did a tour in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. While overseas my parents purchased the family’s first horse. She had a little filly named Missy. This was my first horse in 1968. Years later moving to the South my wife and I decided to get back into riding. We purchased our first horse whose name was Stormy. She later had a colt whose was Spirit. Both Stormy and Spirit are very special. This is why I felt it would make a good book. It’s both educational and entertaining. My wife and I have taught many young people how to work with horses and how to ride. I’m also a trained horse farrier which I attended the Auburn Farrier School. I’m hoping this book can give insight into what’s involved in taking care of a horse and how they feel.
